    Gerry Weber

    CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER

    Gerry Weber, Chief Executive Officer, has more than 35 years of experience in the rail industry, beginning his career with Canadian National Railway (CN) as a design engineer before advancing through leadership roles in mechanical, marketing, supply management, and transportation. He went on to lead Transdev’s rail division in Chicago, supporting commuter lines in Florida and California, before serving as vice president of mechanical at Union Pacific Railroad and later overseeing railyard service businesses at Marmon Holdings. His leadership and cross-functional expertise bring a unique perspective that supports Compass Rail’s continued growth and operational success.

    Jay Medlin

    CHIEF COMMERCIAL OFFICER

    Jay Medlin, Chief Commercial Officer, has 18 years of experience in the rail industry, including 16 years at Norfolk Southern across mechanical, sourcing, and marketing. That background gives Jay an extensive understanding of railroad operations and the challenges customers face. After moving into senior sales and marketing roles with suppliers, he now uses his insight from both sides of the industry to build strong relationships with railroads and shippers. Jay focuses on delivering practical, win-win solutions that drive growth and customer success.

    Cliff Bowman

    CHIEF SAFETY OFFICER

    Cliff Bowman, Chief Safety Officer at Compass Rail, started as a track laborer and worked his way up over a 30-year career to lead high-performing teams across mechanical, track and transportation. Known as “Coach” for his team-first leadership style, Cliff has built some of the safest and most productive operations in the industry. At Compass Rail, he drives a boots-on-the-ground safety culture rooted in authenticity, accountability, and respect for the frontline.

    Joshua Shenk

    CHIEF FINANCIAL OFFICER

    Joshua Shenk, Chief Financial Officer, brings nearly 30 years of accounting and finance experience, including executive leadership roles across a variety of industries. His expertise spans budgeting, treasury management, audit, IT, payroll, inventory control, and compliance. At Compass Rail, Joshua is focused on building a strong financial infrastructure that supports growth, fosters cross-functional collaboration, and equips teams to operate efficiently and effectively.

  • Keith Fitzhugh

    VICE PRESIDENT - SWITCHING

    Keith Fitzhugh, Vice President – Switching, brings 16 years of rail and industrial switching experience. He began his career with Norfolk Southern as a conductor and advanced into superintendent-level leadership roles, later holding senior positions with Road & Rail Services, RJ Corman Railroad & Switching Company, and Railserve, Inc. As Vice President of U.S. Switching at Railserve, he led safe, reliable operations across 50+ locations nationwide. A 2016 Top Industry Risers Award recipient and 2023 Progressive Railroading Top 25 Under 40 honoree, Keith brings field-driven leadership and a proven ability to scale multi-site operations to support Compass Rail’s continued growth.

    Shane Keller

    EXECUTIVE CHAIRMAN

    Shane Keller, Executive Chairman of Compass Rail, brings more than 32 years of railroad leadership experience from Union Pacific. Throughout his career, he served as Senior Vice President over multiple departments, including Mechanical, Engineering, and Transportation. With broad expertise spanning operations, locomotive and car management, engineering, transportation, dispatching, and service design, Shane combines deep industry knowledge with proven leadership to drive Compass Rail’s growth and operational excellence.

    Megan McDaniel

    DIRECTOR OF CUSTOMER SERVICE

    Megan McDaniel, Director of Customer Service, brings nearly 20 years of experience in railcar repair and management. She has advanced through a variety of roles, including railcar controller, customer service manager, and plant manager at repair facilities. She now manages the entire customer fleet maintenance process, from cost estimates and repair scheduling to compliance and invoicing through Rail IQ or directly for mobile repair clients. Megan’s focus is on safe, reliable, and cost-effective service that keeps customer fleets moving.

  • Wesley Davis

    DIRECTOR OF MOBILE OPERATIONS

    Tanner Davis, Director of Mobile Operations, brings eight years of experience in the rail industry, leading mobile and in-plant service operations across field and facility environments. He began his career as a carman and advanced through roles including inspector and area manager, developing expertise in railcar inspection, repair, and operational leadership. In his current role, he leads the execution of mobile and in-plant contractual services, ensuring consistent performance across customer operations. Tanner is recognized for his quality-first mindset, disciplined approach to safety, and commitment to keeping customer fleets operating at optimal conditions to support long-term reliability.

  • Chris Howard

    DIRECTOR RRA OPERATIONS - SOUTH

    Chris brings over 18 years of Class I railroad experience, with a strong track record in leading complex, safety-critical operations. He has advanced through roles of increasing responsibility, building expertise in car inspection and repair, operations, and performance management. A Progressive Railroading Top 40 Under 40 honoree, Chris is known for his data-driven approach and ability to optimize processes, improve performance, and deliver sustainable results that enhance efficiency and reliability.

  • Ian Allan

    DIRECTOR RRA OPERATIONS - NORTH

    Ian brings over 35 years of experience with Canadian National Railway and Norfolk Southern, with a proven record of leading mechanical operations across complex, multi-region networks. He has led teams of 200+ employees and strengthened compliance with AAR, FRA, and Transport Canada standards. Known for improving safety, productivity, and efficiency, Ian combines strategic leadership with deep mechanical expertise to build high-performing teams and drive scalable, sustainable results.
